Here, your work directly supports the store mission to be the guest favorite through successfully developing and communicating the processes for operations, style and experience, new structures, new operating models and new technology, and utilizing workforce management activities for our 1,800 locations nationwide. Store Operations manages and enhances the informational resources for researching and resolving operational issues, while guiding and communicating with the field team and leaders who use them. As a Director Store Operations - Store Communication you will:
  • Build, lead, coach, and mentor a team of writers, communication strategists and storytellers that serve as the voice of store teams and play a critical role in bringing innovative solutions to life.
  • You and your team will influence Store Operations and enterprise led strategies, while delivering credible communication solutions that drive positive impact for our guest and store teams.
  • Drive strategic direction and guide implementation of store communication deliverables.
  • Play a critical role in strategy development ORK key initiatives for Store Operations and enterprise partners to ensure final communication deliverables are effective and intuitive for stores and field leaders.
  • Understand and participate in Communications workflow processes, ensuring high standards of collaboration and quality work product, consistently and efficiently. Develop and utilize OKRs to track outcomes against measurable goals.
  • Drive and reinforce editorial consistency, voice and tone of our store communications channels with daily editing duties.
  • Be on the front line of the creation of stories that share operational priorities, including planning and execution details. You'll lead a team that will concept, report and write stories for signature communications channels that share operational priorities, including planning and execution details.

About You:
  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience leading a team
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategies
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to negotiate, manage differing points of view and understand key stakeholder needs at all levels.
  • Communication experience, paired with strong editorial judgement with ability to focus on both a broad, strategic vision and small, critical details
  • Experience influencing across all levels of the organization; proven ability to lead through conflict, competing priorities, and operate in an ambiguous, rapidly changing work environment
  • Skilled at forming business relationships and teaching/training
  • Ability to prioritize projects against tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of AP Style desired
  • Experience supporting stores/field organization desired


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $119,500 to $215,100. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
