IT PROGRAM MANAGER

Best Buy Co., Inc. has an opening working for and based out of its corporate headquarters as a IT Program Manager. Execute technology Programs to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope. Confer with program personnel to identify and resolve problems. Monitor or track program milestones and deliverables. Track program deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards. Assess current or future business stakeholder needs and priorities by communicating directly with stakeholders. Schedule and facilitate meetings related to technology programs. Develop or update program plans/milestones including information such as program objectives, systems, information specifications, schedules, and team impacts. Perform risk assessment to develop response strategies. Prepare program status reporting by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Establish and execute a program communication plan. Work with stakeholders on product & program planning, scheduling, resource alignment. Follow agile principles, implement Scrum & Kanban frameworks. Coach the team on self-organization and becoming cross-functional. Remove impediments to the team's progress towards its work commitments. Facilitate Scrum & Kanban meetings including planning, retrospectives, reviews & demonstrations of product features and daily stand-up meetings. Enact change & continuous improvement to increase the productivity of the team and quality of deliverables. Coach the team in Scrum, Kanban principles. Facilitate team & cross-team meetings related to development work. Ensure team execution and delivery to committed feature work. Protect team from over-commitment. Report status, risks, impediments for development to stakeholders and ensure resolutions are implemented in a timely manner. Follow established techniques for effective Product Backlog management. Create forum for communicating vision, goals, and Product Backlog items to the team. Ensure Backlog items are clear and concise. Collaborate and partner within and beyond the team and build productive relationships with others. Communicate effectively across diverse audiences within and outside of the teams. Foster open communication to help surface issues for faster resolution. Recognize and resolve obstacles to team efficiency and work effectiveness. Provide perspective to the team and keeps team focused on critical deliverables and tasks. There are multiple openings for this position. Full Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or a related technical field, plus five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in an Agile environment, and the following skills: Agile technical coaching (XP, TDD, BDD), DevOps and CI/CD pipeline enablement, sprint planning, distributed Agile implementation, technology program planning, program scheduling, managing program milestones, software engineering lean principles, software release management, risk management, leading teams, managing client relations, resource planning, change management, JIRA, and Confluence. In the alternative, Best Buy will also accept a Master's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or a related technical field, plus three (3) years of experience in an Agile environment, and the following skills: Agile technical coaching (XP, TDD, BDD), DevOps and CI/CD pipeline enablement, sprint planning, distributed Agile implementation, technology program planning, program scheduling, managing program milestones, software engineering lean principles, software release management, risk management, leading teams, managing client relations, resource planning, change management, JIRA, and Confluence.
