A role in HQ Engineering and Activation means being at the heart of our perpetual reimagining. This group is the think tank and laboratory for the innovative ideas that spark change throughout the Supply Chain. We are inventors, metrics masters, data geeks, testers, triers, course-correctors and askers of the all-important question "What if ... ?". This team influences processes, engineers the robotics and automation to support those processes, activates solutions sustainably across the network and manages those assets. Your specific expertise-whether it's people, process, technology, or data-will be felt well beyond the boundaries of the Supply Chain organization, positively impacting Target team members and guests alike

A role in Inventory Planning and Control (IPC), a division of Global Inventory Management, means applying your specialized and well-informed point of view to what we buy, from whom, how much and where it needs to go from there. You'll work with engineers in Target Technology Services and Data Science to develop the algorithms that determine how much inventory we purchase from suppliers, and which stores or fulfillment centers need inventory at what time to allow Target to operate successfully and meet the needs of the guest. As a Sr. Product Manager on the IPC Product Team, you will be a key player in advancing the products available to our Target Inventory Management teams and key partners. Your products will include both modern and legacy products. Item Node Relationship (INR) is a modern business product in which items are assigned to location, channels, capabilities and sub-capabilities through business rules. Automated Item Replenishment (AIR) is a legacy forecasting and replenishment system that is at the center of all of Target's legacy inventory purchasing and replenishment decisions. This role sits within the Engineering and Activation (E&A) team under the Inventory Planning and Control product umbrella and has critical impact to all end-users of all legacy and modern inventory systems facing internal and external to Target clients.

You will also work across Target's Global Supply Chain teams to ensure effective and efficient use of inventory systems, interfaces and processes to maximize process enhancement, and continuous product development. You will use your understanding of Legacy and Modern systems to support all of Target's business categories and unique nodes. You will report to Director, Product Management, Inventory Planning and Control.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will work in the product model and will partner to develop a comprehensive product strategy, related roadmap, and set key business objectives (OKRs) for your respective product. You will need to leverage the knowledge of your product, as well as customer feedback and establish other relevant data points to assess value, develop business cases, and prioritize the direction and desired outcomes for your product. You will lead a product and work in unison with engineers, UX designers, data scientists and business partners to deliver a product.

You will be the "voice of the product" to key stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met, and that the product team is getting the direction and support that it needs to be successful. You will develop and actively understand the market, maintain a product roadmap and backlog outlining the customer themes, epics, and stories while prioritizing the backlog to focus on the highest impact work for your team and stakeholders.

You will encourage the open exchange of information and viewpoints, as well as inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while committing to the organization's direction. You will foster a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles, and partner with product teams across the organization to help them achieve their goals while pursuing and completing yours.

About you:

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of product management experience or equivalent domain experience such as inventory management or supply chain
  • Ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams
  • Experience working in an agile environment (e.g., user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas)
  • Ability to lead a body of work with cross-functional partners
  • Strong communication skills


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $105,800 to $190,400.
