Position Description

As the Marketing Senior Manager - Acquisition, you will be responsible for the Acquisition team, leading and directing them through the development of strategies and tactics across all channels and audiences. You will ensure acquisition metrics and enrollment goals are met for the Medicare and Individual and Family product lines. Strategies include year-round go-to-market acquisition campaigns, marketing data analysis, strategic partnerships, and performance assessment and improvement of recommendations of acquisition touchpoints related to consumer (prospect) journeys. You will support managing the marketing budget across the organization, directed by data insights to maximize marketing spend. Responsible for growing a multi-product portfolio that is makes up a quarter of UCare's membership. This position will lead ongoing collaboration with key stakeholders across the enterprise and externally on acquisition opportunities and priorities.

• Develop acquisition strategies for each UCare segment for the next three years to improve overall consumer experience and significantly increase enrollment numbers year-over-year. Assess consumer touchpoints annually and adapt strategies, as necessary, to meet consumer needs and increase enrollment in UCare plans.

• Support the development and management of the marketing analysis function. Develop an attribution model to attribute lead source and launch measurement of brand net promoter score. Collaborate with marketing analysis staff to develop, implement, and maintain annual plan to conduct consumer research and provide data insights that will enable increased brand recognition and acquisition.

• Develop, implement, and execute annual acquisition marketing plans including strategies, programs, and tactics that are designed to enroll consumers to meet acquisition growth goals. Adapt strategies as needed to adjust to shifts in tactics and new opportunities.

• Develop and execute annual acquisition marketing plan for UCare partner plan enrollment, which includes marketing strategies, programs, tactics designed to drive awareness of UCare partner plan products.

• Collaborate with agencies (traditional, digital, and direct mail) and assist in management of key vendor partners on product advertisement campaigns and direct response tactics, based on communications and marketing plans. Ensure contracts are executed timely and contract terms are monitored for performance.

• Manage staff, including Marketing Manager, Senior Marketing Analyst, Content Strategist, and Project Manager, ensuring professional growth and employee engagement are central to management approach. Ensure annual development and performance goals are documented and measured.

• Strategize with Product and Sales Leaders to ensure alignment of marketing, product and sales strategy planning as it relates to acquisition. Responsible for providing appropriate acquisition tools to support activities, events, and acquisition goal achievement. Adjust and course correct as needed throughout the plan year cycle.

• Partner with the Member Engagement Team (Associate Director, Marketing Project Manager, Content Strategists, Communication Leads) on external communications, and agency partners as needed to coordinate messaging and tactics for marketing communications materials.

• Measure results of campaigns and programs; adjust and report as needed. Direct marketing analysis function responsible for analyzing market environment, setting campaign goals, and tracking performance in order to maximize marketing return on investment.

• Prepare and present consumer journeys and acquisition marketing plan key elements to leadership and other stakeholders at key company meetings and events.

• Partner with Associate Directors, Market Managers, and Content Strategists to create cross-segment opportunities and collaborative projects. Lead or participate in cross-functional projects and teams that tie into marketing planning and execution, as needed.

• Provide a strategic voice for new business opportunities on behalf of the Marketing Acquisition function.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree in marketing or a closely related field; MBA preferred. Demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Seven years of corporate or non-profit experience in marketing, strategy, and/or product management, health promotions, marketing either a service or product portfolio; or three years' experience in marketing, strategy, or product management with MBA. Proficiency with Microsoft Office systems.

Preferred Experience

At least three years of experience in health care marketing preferred. Business to consumer experience a plus. Experience working in a government-regulated industry also a plus.
