The Nursing Department at St. Catherine University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions for our J-Term and Spring semester 2023. These positions are for:

  • BSN - DNP : Nurse Practitioner Program: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Track


St. Catherine University graduate nursing faculty educate students to develop the knowledge, technical skills, and professionalism they will need to be compassionate and successful nurse practitioners and leaders. Our nurse practitioner programs and curricula are delivered in an environment that embraces multicultural and social justice perspectives, relationships, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the liberal arts. Our psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner program integrates holistic health into the curriculum and helps students gain the skills to establish an independent practice. We search for excellent nurse educators in a variety of learning formats. Specific specialization needs we have identified within psychiatric-mental health care include:
  • Healthcare business for independent NP practice
  • Clinical psychopharmacology
  • Integrative / Holistic Health for PMH conditions
  • Assessment/diagnosis/ and EBP management of PMH conditions of adults
  • Assessment/diagnosis/ and EBP management of PMH conditions of children and families


We are searching for nurses to contribute to didactic and/or clinical components of course instruction. Available positions include evening and weekday opportunities. Most positions require in-person instruction. Join us and give back to the nursing profession while impacting better health outcomes!

Responsibilities include all of the following:
  • Foster a culture of inclusive excellence through authentic relationships with students as an educator and mentor.
  • Monitor and evaluate student-learning outcomes and provide timely and frequent feedback to students on academic performance.
  • Collaborate with a small group of faculty to deliver high-quality instruction.
  • Deliver content in-person and/or hybrid formats.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensed and unencumbered registered nurse in the State of Minnesota.
  • Licensed and unencumbered license as an advanced practice registered nurse ( APRN ) in the state of Minnesota
  • Certified as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner ( PMHNP ).
  • Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Two years of direct or indirect practice experience in an area of specialization.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree
  • Academic preparation and teaching experience in nursing education.
  • Teaching experience in online and in-person formats.
