As a Sr. Financial Analyst, Strategy Finance - Ops & Analytics you will support our Strategy Finance, Strategy, and Communications & Community Relations team by working with senior leaders to manage the financial operations and analytics that support key strategic decisions. This will include:
  • Partner directly with the business to manage the annual goal and budgets of our Strategy and Communications & Community Relations team
  • Partner with Community Relations to manage our 5% giving, philanthropy, and community financial plans, strategies, and long-range plans
  • Supporting the modeling and analysis of our Enterprise long-range plan
  • Working with senior managers across our team to support analysis and modeling of key strategic initiatives, such as competitor analysis, Guest growth opportunities, and macro trends


You will partner with a broad set of stakeholders in Finance, Strategy and the Business, leverage financial and strategic analyses, and hone your unique, data-driven perspective to illuminate the key decisions for the business. A successful candidate will have a demonstrated aptitude for driving for clarity in highly ambiguous situations, establishing effective cross-Enterprise partnerships, and applying balanced analytical and strategic thinking to business recommendations.

About you:
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, business analytics, or planning
  • Strong analytical experience with a comprehensive understanding of the three financial statements (income statement, cash flow, and balance sheet)
  • Experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and reporting
  • Deep curiosity and desire to leverage disparate datasets to identify new strategic insights and tell compelling stories
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills at all levels; ability to communicate well with Executive Leadership
  • Credible strategic thinker and thought leader
  • Ability to create compelling materials to align teams and drive to decisions (PowerPoint)
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and strong decision making, project management, planning and organizational skills


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $65,600 (min) to $118,100 (max).
