Working within Tax, your mission will be to drive value-added work and support our core retail business goals. Our tax team focuses on all aspects of tax reporting including enhancing productivity and efficiency of core compliance through process and technology, monitoring tax risk and opportunities across all tax disciplines, engaging and educating Finance and the broader organization regarding tax considerations, and prioritizing team resources to support key work streams.

As a Senior Accountant, Property Tax, you will be an active partner by owning the submission of forecast/goal for assigned journal entries and working closely with the company's Financial Reporting and Corporate Financial Planning teams to ensure accurate data is received and forecasted amounts are reasonable. You will complete SAP journal entries and review account reconciliations timely and in compliance with SOX guidelines. You will facilitate timely and accurate month-end close responsibilities as needed. You will work on special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed. You will develop strong internal and external relationships in order to influence partners and provide client support to teams across the company. You will indirectly manage talent including the coaching and training of others on the team. You will drive process improvements by using data analytics and innovation. You will enforce governance policies around capital spend and maintain a strong internal control environment.

About you:
  • 3+ years of Accounting experience, some Property Tax experience preferred
  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance or related business area preferred
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of US GAAP accounting principles
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized with the ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members of all levels
  • Ability to investigate, strategize, and solve problems while working with ambiguity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience advocating for tax matters both internally and with external auditors and government officials
  • Experience with SAP, or similar tax software and general ledger system, and data analytics tools such as Alteryx, PowerBI, DOMO or other analytics software is preferred


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

The salary range is $65,600-$118,100.
