Legislative Assistant DFL Caucus Research Department

Full-time Legislative Assistant position with the DFL Caucus of the Minnesota House of Representatives to provide administrative support for House DFL Research and DFL Members of the House.

Duties include compiling, proofing, editing, photocopying, and distributing bill summaries and other legislative materials produced by DFL Research staff during the legislative session. Duties also include overseeing written products produced during the legislative interim as well as managing Researcher schedules, coordinating requests for information from DFL Members, and communicating with other offices in the DFL Caucus. Position requires excellent editing, typing, formatting and grammatical skills, as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Working knowledge of the legislative process is essential to effectively function in this position.  Must have the ability to work long and irregular hours especially during session.  BA/BS desired.

Entry salary starts at $1,673 semi-monthly commensurate with experience.  Excellent benefits.
