Your input will ensure that Target realizes the expected value from the terms of our agreements that comprise nearly a $10 billion annual spend toward innovative and competitively priced goods and services by:
  • Promoting best practices across the entire company by developing deep knowledge and client relationships in each spend category
  • Providing expert integrated business planning and stakeholder management for all indirect items and services
  • Applying intelligent rate, demand and specification levers to source, negotiate and contract services while sustainably lowering costs
  • Propelling the business with accurate and comprehensive demand forecasting, financial planning and item setup
  • Changing the game for our internal online catalog end users by making the entire buying process faster and simpler
  • Helping us cultivate Target's partnerships with diverse, community-minded suppliers who are committed to economic development and job growth


PRIMARY FUNCTION

As a Sr. Specialist, Procurement Services you'll partner with sourcing teams, business clients and indirect vendors leveraging your working knowledge of the contract set up and execution process to drive efficiencies across supplier categories. You will exhibit your functional knowledge of tools, processes and techniques to support onboarding Sourcing and Enterprise teams to the full contracting experience within our procurement tool. You will utilize existing systems and business processes to execute work in a timely fashion, monitor and provide feedback to inform suppliers and internal partners of adherence to, and deviations from, documented expectation. Recommend ideas and plans for continuous improvement with internal partners and suppliers. This position will support sourcing and business teams on contractual structures of pricing agreements to ensure ability to systematically control pricing/rates.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works proactively with Sourcing and Business teams to identify opportunities to utilize the automated contracts request process and repository
  • Processes requests, executes and manages contract documents & keeps contract workspaces organized
  • Provides education, training, and support to Business teams, Sourcing partners, and Suppliers related to all things contract execution
  • Efficiently and effectively completes daily transactional tasks, leveraging time management skills to ensure success of our contract management processes
  • Communicates deviations from standard work to manager
  • Participates in creating and improving processes and documentation to complete both standard and non-standard work
  • Communicates primarily within immediate team, Procurement & Law
  • Builds relationships with various category areas across the Enterprise in support of contract execution
  • Leverages manager to determine prioritization of responsibilities as needed along with special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned


About you:
  • 4-year college degree and/or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience using business systems to execute controlled processes
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and working in enterprise software applications/systems
  • Strong analytical and technical aptitude

  • 4-year college degree
  • Electronic Signature experience
  • Prior experience and/or familiarity with Contracting Mechanics
  • Procurement and contracting knowledge & acumen
