COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST - PROGRAM SUPPORT

Work Location: Office for Your Day

Position Description

This position is responsible for providing support to the Corporate Compliance Program, which includes updating, maintaining, monitoring, and reporting on compliance training, UCare Code of Conduct, Program communications, documentation, and policies and procedures. In addition, you will support the incident intake function, by monitoring various compliance incident reporting mechanisms, assigning, and tracking incidents. You will assist with supporting Compliance360 and other Compliance Program activities, as necessary.

• Maintain, gather, and make recommendations on updates to the UCare Code of Conduct working with the LMS resource and department leadership.

• Serve as main point of contact for Case360 user access support.

• Develop and maintain corporate compliance training in partnership with Corporate Learning & Development to ensure it is relevant, effective and meets regulatory requirements. Deploy annual training, track, escalate overdue training and report on completion of training. Develop ad hoc training as needed.

• Develop and maintain Program policies and procedure(s) in partnership with the business owner. Conduct an annual assessment of all UCare corporate policies and procedures, including mapping policies to the UCare Code of Conduct and/or Employee handbook.

• Work with business owners and liaisons on tracking progress on corporate policies and procedures, auditing, reporting and training on policies and procedures. Provide recommendations and training on developing policies and procedures, as needed.

• Assist with preparing reports and presentations for the Compliance Associate Director, as needed, for various committees including the Compliance Oversight Committee and the Compliance Committee of the Board.

• Develop and maintain Compliance Program communications on a variety of compliance and ethics topics, including supporting Compliance Awareness Week activities and events, and the communications strategy.

• Monitor compliance incidents reported through a variety of sources, including the Compliance Hotline, email box and other methods for reporting compliance, Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FWA) concerns. Gather pertinent information, including reaching out to the reporter if needed, and document the information in the appropriate tracking system. Exercise initiative and sound judgment in responding to reported compliance incidents, including FWA leads, promptly and in accordance with established policies and procedures. If unable or unqualified to assist, promptly refer the incident to the appropriate Compliance or Special Investigations Unit (SIU) staff for handling.

• Assign reported compliance concerns to appropriate staff for investigation. Assist Compliance and SIU leadership in following up on investigations and assuring appropriate documentation is maintained.

• Maintain Program documentation including the Department plan, Compliance Strategic plan and Business Continuity Plan (BCP), Compliance Program Description; and support Request for Proposal (RFP) responses.

• Build and leverage cross-functional relationships, influence and support a culture of compliance and ethics.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Required Experience

Three years compliance experience or combined compliance/training experience.

Preferred Experience

Compliance experience within a health insurance or provider organization. Experience with Compliance360, SharePoint and Teams collaboration sites, and learning management system.
