SENIOR MARKET ANALYST - PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

Position Description

As the Senior Market Analyst - Product Management, you are responsible for business-critical market research and strategic counsel in support of UCare's product development and product management activities. You will gather, analyze, synthesize, and communicate data and complex research findings to business partners and executive leadership. In addition, you will manage quantitative and qualitative research projects by contracted research organizations. You must have advanced technical skills to conduct research and data analysis and create visualizations for reporting.

• Initiate and implement new analyses and reports to support annual development of UCare's products and benefits. Collaborate with teams to identify informational needs; develop understanding of UCare products, competitors and markets; determine most suitable data and methodologies; create report data; provide context and high-level analysis.

• Collaborate in the development of reporting and analytics to support management and oversight of UCare's existing products. Meet with business owners to identify requirements. Manage timelines and accountabilities for key deliverables. Monitor the progress of research projects to ensure data is being collected in a timely and consistent manner.

• Lead research projects of moderate scope and complexity. Review and apply specifications and regulatory guidance; identify and prioritize project deliverables; design and execute project plans; communicate with internal and external parties regarding issues, barriers, and ongoing status.

• Develop and maintain high level expertise in the use of UCare's Business Intelligence tools, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, MarketView, and other reporting software solutions. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the department, provide mentorship and direction to peers regarding data analysis and Business Intelligence tools.

• Develop reporting specifications to summarize results, findings, and any issues for management. Create presentations and other reports for internal and external audiences, present to large groups and executive leadership, and respond to questions.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of data structure within UCare's internal data systems, including membership, enrollment, claims, providers, and product lines.

• Oversee day to day vendor relationships, including facilitation of research study development in collaboration with Product Managers, review of findings, and communication of results to stakeholders.

• Respond to ad hoc requests for data analysis or research on UCare's members, competitors and/or the health insurance market. Determine resources, analyze findings, and present results.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in data analytics, business administration, or other relevant field. Demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

At least five years of experience in a product or service-based organization with product and market research/analytics responsibilities and technical analysis experience, including both qualitative and quantitative studies. At least three years of experience with survey platforms such as Qualtrics or RedCap. Advanced Excel, SQL or SAS experience. Experience with Tableau or similar programs. Experience managing multiple, complex projects. Proven facilitation skills. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. At least three years or more experience with survey platforms such as Qualtrics or REDCap.

Preferred Experience

Demonstrated experience performing market research focused on responders or populations with low income, lower education levels, and/or low English Proficiency. At least three years' experience in health care/managed care organization. Knowledge of state, federal and commercial health care programs and products. Google Analytics certification. Understanding of project management concepts and methodologies.
