BUSINESS ANALYST - DATA QUALITY

Work Location: Work from Home or Office for Your Day

Position Description

As the Business Analyst - Data Quality, you will perform analysis, document and execute data quality measures for Enterprise Data projects incorporating the needs of Health Care Economics and other UCare business units as directed. Partner with appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand business problems and perform necessary data analysis to gather, document and confirm business and technical requirements along with any identified gaps. You will collaborate with Enterprise Data technical resources to ensure an understanding of requirements and create development schedules, as well as execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities. In addition, you will create and maintain data governance artifacts; effectively manage and communicate testing results, remediation plans, risks, barriers and success as appropriate to stakeholders; and ensure requirements and solutions conform to departmental and technical standards as specified. Serve as the liaison between the business and Information Technology (IT) to ensure alignment.

• Collaborate with appropriate project SMEs to gather, document, and confirm complex business and technical requirements.

• Perform data analysis from various data sources, as needed, to assist in the gathering of business and technical requirements.

• Perform gap analysis and recommend technical solutions.

• Assist the technical resources in understanding and translating business requirements for the purpose of developing functional requirements.

• Provide effective written and oral communication to key data stakeholders to report progress and to identify risks and barriers.

• Develop and maintain data governance documentation and artifacts.

• Coordinate with technical Enterprise Data resources on priorities and timelines of projects.

• Collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure that IT and Enterprise Data resources are aware of ongoing and upcoming projects in order to ensure that efforts are not overlapping or conflicting.

• Define UAT plans and execute UAT scripts. Escalate issues for remediation with technical partners.

• Provide post-implementation support and ensure solutions continue to meet business requirements.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

BS/BA in a Computer Science, Business or related field; demonstrated work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

At least three years of Business and/or technical analysis experience. Demonstrated knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouse environments. Experience with specific phases of the software development life cycle, especially requirement development analysis, test planning and execution. Experience working with data queries for data analysis and validation. Experience in translating business requirements into testing specifications and test scenarios. Strong analytical skills and experience with test automation.

Preferred Experience

Knowledge of the HMO industry. Experience with software such as SQL, Python, and Metadata Management Tools.
