Job Title:  Quality Manager                                             Reports To: CEO/President

Position Summary: In addition to the responsibilities of Machinist Level III, this position is responsible for managing all quality processes and procedures.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understanding customers needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
  • Work closely with internal ISO auditors to be sure we stay compliant
  • Creating and reviewing specifications for products or processes
  • Supervise inspectors, machinists, and other staff and provide comments and feedback
  • Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis
  • Solicit feedback from customers to assess weather their requirements are being met
  • Submit reports to appropriate people within Yeager Machine
  • Final say on approval or rejection of products
  • Be on the lookout for opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures

Qualifications and Skills Required: In addition to a level III Machinist

  • Management experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • In-depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant standards

 Required Competencies:

  • Knowledge of advanced set-up, machine speeds and feeds for materials and tools.
  • Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience using manual and CMM inspections equipment.
  • Ability to understand and write g-code programming.
  • Has a strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and has the ability to adapt to changes in the work requests or environment.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively to co-workers and supervisory staff.
  • Is knowledgeable of the 5s and lean concepts and helps production move forward in achieving the department goals.
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships.
  • Is a self-starter and has the drive to take on responsibilities and challenges.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and motivates and develops others to succeed.

Job Title:  Machinist Level III                      

Position Summary: This position is responsible for the operation of various machines (e.g., milling, turning, mill/turn, etc.) and tooling (e.g., set-up, tool changes and wear) in the assigned cell or production area.  Responsible for machining parts by setting up and operating CNC machines while maintaining quality and safety standards.  Machinist will work with various materials and parts from castings.  Duties are performed under minimal supervision.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs setup and machine operation on various CNC and manual machines.
  • Edits CNC programs through machine controls as necessary.
  • Maintains production rate assigned to the job.
  • Perform first article inspections and documents results.
  • Sets-up first run operations on new products.
  • Changes cutting tools and adjusts machine feeds and speeds as needed.
  • Understands the manufacturing and machining processes and makes suggestions in how to improve these processes.
  • Is skilled in using various measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and other inspection gauges.
  • Is able to verify fixture setup using all necessary inspection equipment.
  • Works with various materials and complex designs ad has the ability to identify and determine differences or similarities of these materials and designs.
  • Makes high quality parts to specifications and follow work order directions.
  • Is responsible for the proper use of machines, tooling and inspection equipment.
  • Performs in process inspection of machined parts and accurately completes the required paperwork such as the Inspection Process (IP) sheet.
  • Is able to maintain a balanced workload by prioritizing and maintaining machine set-up, production and maintenance duties.
  • Completes secondary operations such as deburring, assembling and washing parts during the machine cycle time per the print and machining process.
  • Ability to effectively train level II Machinists and Machine Operators in all aspects of the job.
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows specified safety procedures at all times.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  •  High school education or GED completion required. Two-year machine technology degree plus at least two years of experience machining various parts in a close tolerance environment such as milling, turning and grinding or at least four years of experience machining parts in a close tolerance environment. Knowledge of CNC equipment capabilities and daily maintenance of machines. Ability read and interpret blue prints, engineering drawings and specifications Proficient in the use of machinist hand tools and measuring equipment. Skilled in performing mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately (including addition, subtraction, multiplications, and division using whole number, fraction and decimals).
