Job Title: Inserting Manager
Summary:
Provides production planning, work direction and leadership to all areas of the Inserting department and works cooperatively with all areas of Document Services production and production planning functions.
Essential Position Responsibilities:
Provide work direction and training to Inserting employees on two shifts as necessary.
Ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality.
Develop meaningful preventive action on all quality non-conformities.
Responsible for managing department budget to planned levels.
Provide leadership in recruiting and training all full time and temporary employees. In effect,
qualify them for the positions they will occupy.
Manage for productivity and waste reduction.
Be responsible for equipment preventive maintenance.
Establish and post shift hour assignments based on upcoming workload.
Support, promote and participate in 5S / Continuous Improvement efforts.
Monitor and ensure that the work areas are a safe environment for all employees, reporting issues to the appropriate individuals as necessary.
Identify and recommend productivity improvement and waste reduction opportunities.
Provide necessary job updates to Senior Management on a needed basis, minimum daily.
Participate in ISO preparation, training, reviews, planning and audits.
Ensure all documentation and processes are consistent with ISO 9001 requirements.
Recommend and develop corrective actions in response to issues documented.
Knowledge of PACE or other software specific to Print/Inserting Operations
Provide assistance and recommendations regarding floor space planning.
Interact with Project Management and Sales as an information resource.
Estimate resources and time requirements for projects.
Complete staff annual performance review documentation based on organization and individual goals.
Responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of communication with Production Team and
Managing staff regarding project status and daily issues.
Primary liaison between DRC and USPS. Address any issues with Postal Representatives/Management
Develop bench strength in the department.
Coordinate with outside vendor partners regarding specifications, scheduling and quality Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma
Minimum of 5 years of Managerial experience in inserting and mailing operations
Must be technically competent in the Inserting field.
Advanced knowledge of current U.S.P.S. Rules and regulations.
Effective communications and human relations skills.

Reporting to this position: Inserter
Operator Lead, Inserter Operators, Operations Support, Inserting Technician and
Mail Coordinator.
Physical Requirements: This job requires the ability to hear clearly at conversation levels, the ability to and have clear close, peripheral and distance vision. The essential duties must be performed satisfactorily in order for an individual to successfully fulfill the requirements of this position.
Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 10 hour periods of time
Ability to look at a computer monitor, utilize a keyboard and/or mouse for up to 8
hours per day
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as necessary
