CommonBond Communities invites qualified applicants to apply for the Roving Social Service Coordinator, Advantage Services position. The Roving Social Service Coordinator will provide assessment, referrals, resources, advocacy, crisis intervention and supportive services to residents of assigned housing communities, with a focus on housing stability. The Roving Social Service Coordinator will provide these services both in-person and remotely to a portfolio of housing communities within a given geography across Minnesota, Iowa, and/or Wisconsin.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ASSOCIATED TASKS

  • Plan, coordinate, promote, manage, and document the delivery of resident-centered programs and services with a focus on housing stability.  
  • Work collaboratively with property managers to provide lease education and support residents in overcoming challenges to lease compliance.  
  • Support resident engagement with the community by providing technical and resource support. Develop collaborative community relationships to support resident housing stability.  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in related field or at least three years of experience in a related field.  
  • Two years of experience providing individual services to a diverse population of individuals and families.  
  • Knowledge of community resources and service networks.   
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.   
  • Demonstrated experience working within diverse communities, which include people of various ages, gender, sexual orientations, national origins, income levels, ability levels, religious affiliations, races, and languages.  
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment with both internal and external partners.  
  • Ability to network and develop community partnerships 
  • Experience using MS Office 365 and other software programs. 
  • Be certified in CPR and First Aid or can become certified within six months of starting position. 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Licensed mental health professional or social worker.  
  • Four or more years of experience providing individual services to a diverse population of individuals and families.  
  • Experience working with refugees and/or knowledge of immigration procedures and issues  
  • Master's degree in social work, human services or related field.   
  • Experience with employment assistance, homelessness, domestic violence, mental illness, chemical dependency and disabilities.  
  • Knowledge of affordable housing programs.  
  • Supervision experience with volunteers, interns or paid staff.  
  • Other Requirements  

Must be willing and able to travel between sites.
