The Target Data Science & Analytics teams create the tools and data products to sustainably educate and enable our business partners to make great data-based decisions at Target. We help develop the technology that personalizes the guest experience, from product recommendations to relevant ad content. We're also the source of the data and analytics behind Target's Internet of Things (iOT) applications, fraud detection, Supply Chain optimization and demand forecasting. We play a key role in identifying the test-and-measure or A/B test opportunities that continuously help Target improve the guest experience, whether they love to shop in stores or at Target.com.
Product Teams at Target are accountable for the delivery of business outcomes enabled through technology and analytical products that are easy to use, easily maintained and highly reliable. Product teams have one shared backlog that is inclusive of all product, technology, discovery and design work.
The Item & Reference Data Product builds analytical pipelines serving historical data to teams across every pyramid of Target related to the items we sell, the locations we operate, status of items by location and the business partners we work with. You will work with a team of talented Data Engineers to ingest, transform and persist data from a variety of source applications in our retail platform. To provide trusted and accurate data to the enterprise you will collaborate with teams across Target who access your data in a variety of technologies on the analytical platform to power a breadth of business processes. You will work closely with the retail application product teams creating item, location, item location and vendor data as well to plan modernizations and troubleshoot data quality issues to mitigate impacts to downstream users.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will work in the product model and will partner to develop a comprehensive product strategy, related roadmap, and set key business objectives (OKRs) for your respective product. You will need to leverage the knowledge of your product, as well as customer feedback and establish other relevant data points to assess value, develop business cases, and prioritize the direction and desired outcomes for your product. You will lead a product and work in unison with engineers, UX designers, data scientists and business partners to deliver a product.
You will be the "voice of the product" to key stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met, and that the product team is getting the direction and support that it needs to be successful. You will develop and actively understand the market, maintain a product roadmap and backlog outlining the customer themes, epics, and stories while prioritizing the backlog to focus on the highest impact work for your team and stakeholders.
You will encourage the open exchange of information and viewpoints, as well as inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while committing to the organization's direction. You will foster a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles, and partner with product teams across the organization to help them achieve their goals while pursuing and completing yours.

- Four-year degree or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of product management experience working with analytical data foundations (I.e., how data is transformed, stored and accessed)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the to make data-driven decisions
- Experience leading global product teams of data engineers, analysts or scientists
- Strong knowledge of data architecture, governance, and management
- Experience with data warehousing, visualization and ETL tools are a plus
- Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams
- Experience working in an agile environment (e.g., user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas)
- Ability to lead a body of work with cross-functional partners
- Strong communication skills
This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target. The salary range is :$109,000.00 USD - $196,200.00 USD.
