Description:
About us:

As a Fortune 500 company with more than 350,000 team members worldwide, Target is an iconic brand and one of America's leading retailers.
Working at Target means the opportunity to help all families discover the joy of everyday life. Caring for our communities is woven into who we are, and we invest in the places we collectively live, work and play. We prioritize relationships, fuel and develop talent by creating growth opportunities, and succeed as one Target team. At our core, our purpose is ingrained in who we are, what we value, and how we work. It's how we care, grow, and win together.

Merchandising at Target is evolving at an incredible pace across our broad product portfolio as we create Guest-centric, localized shopping experiences online and across our 1800+ stores. We are constantly reimagining how, as a $100 billion retailer, we offer the innovative and inspiring items that Target Guests love. Our goal is to deliver exceptional value, quality and style to elevate Target as the premier retailer in a competitive global marketplace. We do this through intelligent and progressive business strategies that make the most of Target's resources and partnerships worldwide.

A role in Owned Brand Sourcing & Development (OBS&D) means having a hand in developing products that have a positive impact on people and the planet. We integrate our sourcing capabilities with our propensity for quality and social responsibility to positively impact the cost and quality of our products. We care about the lives of the people who make the products Target guests love, and we're mindful of the impact our manufacturing practices have on the environment. In Sourcing, you'll apply your expertise to promote and apply responsible sourcing practices while driving the success and growth of Target's owned brands. And since Target is indeed a global company, you'll be part of the team that manages global relationships in partnership with the cross-functional team.

As a Sourcing Manager in Kitchen, you will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team including Target Merchants, Planners and Product Design and Development to turn ideas into the merchandise on our stores' shelves and on our online channels. You will own development of sourcing strategies with a focus on global balance, matrix optimization, Target Forward & Sustainability goals, and Target's financial plans. To do this, you will determine appropriate operating model and drive sourcing strategies that align to business goals and critical category needs. You will lead building value-driven negotiation strategies to achieve financial goals. You will be responsible for partnering with worldwide sourcing peers, Quality Assurance, and Responsible Sourcing to deliver high-quality, responsibly sourced products at a great value to our guests.

Additional Responsibilities include:
  • Be involved at the very earliest stages of product development to determine operating model and matrix to deliver on brand, merchant, and product development goals
  • Develop and lead a sourcing strategy to support global balance, matrix optimization, and help Target achieve our financial plans
  • Be responsible for determining which manufacturers Target works with and managing these global partnerships to deliver on your sourcing goals and objectives
  • Leverage understanding of cross functional team goals, risks and priorities to own the development of a sourcing approach that achieves profit, impact, and product goals.

  • Co-Create robust negotiation strategies with global partners, evaluating business levers to deliver end to end value and achieve financial goals and profitability
  • Advocate Target Values, being a role model of Inclusivity and Ethics for Target business and supply chain.
  • Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.
