Responsibilities
Volunteer Specialist
The Volunteer Specialist is responsible for recruiting and retaining volunteers. The position involves planning, coordinating, and managing all volunteer program activities. The individual will be directly responsible for growing and training the volunteer base in the organization. This position will establish, develop and cultivate relationships with volunteer sources.
Essential job responsibilities include:Recruits, educates, and selects volunteers on an ongoing basis. Develops and maintains volunteer training and orientation programs. Supervises and evaluates volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner. Provides information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer services. Maintains volunteer files and ensures all compliance requirements are meet and properly documented. Communicates with interdisciplinary team when appropriate. Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
- Comfortable with electronic databases
- Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Hospice experience and/or volunteer coordination experience
