Full Time People Services/Human Resources Director, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Heritage Senior Living is hiring a People Services Director. Heritage Living Center consists of 27 assisted living rental apartment homes, as well as 64 nursing home beds, 18 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services and is located in Park Rapids, Minnesota. Heritage Senior Living is managed by Ecumen.

Responsibilities

The People Services Director works in accordance with established policies and procedures. The People Services Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the People Services department including the supervision of the people services employees. This role is critical in executing our initiatives, providing great customer support and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.

Essential job responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for overseeing and directing the onboarding, hiring, and orientation process for all new employees. Communicates daily with human resources staff to ensure processes are completed timely and according to policy.
  • Responsible for overseeing and directing the payroll process to ensure accuracy and timely completion. Oversees the benefits processes including COBRA processes.
  • Responsible for on-going monitoring of staff turn-over and retention and implementing creative ideas for recruitment and retention. Performs exit interviews with staff leaving employment. Analyzes and reports appropriate data to QAPI on a quarterly basis.
  • Responsible for preparing and submitting all EEO, Affirmative Action, OSHA 300, and all other Government- mandated reports.
  • Advises and supports other department directors/mangers with employee related issues or concerns. Acts as a liaison between managers and employees to ensure employees are treated fairly and policies are applied consistently.
  • Provides assistance to executive director for strategic planning of site pay structures and staffing levels and participates in the budget planning process. Assist other department heads with budget preparation.
  • Oversees worker's compensation and leave of absence processes to ensure fairness and consistency.
  • Acts as Co-Chair of the safety committee and support to the Safe Patient Handling Committee. Responsible for Employee Right to Know Program and annual education.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    People Services Director

    Minimum Required Qualifications:
    • Degree in Human Resources or related healthcare field.
    • 3+ years in Human Resources and/or healthcare related experience.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Prior supervisory/management experience.
    • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
    • Experience with HRIS software, an applicant tracking system, E-Verify
    • Strong conflict resolution skills
    • Experience working in a Union environment ( if applicable)
