PRODUCT SPECIALIST - INDIVIDUAL & FAMILY PLANS
Work Location: Work from Home or Office for Your Day
Position Description
As the Product Specialist - Individual and Family Plans (IFP), you will be responsible to support UCare's portfolio of Individual and Family Plan (IFP) products. Under the guidance of Product Manager(s), lead day-to-day activities, projects and other work to enhance product design and performance. Some responsibilities may involve other UCare products.
• With guidance from the Product Manager, support development and implementation of UCare's IFP products. Primary areas of support include product and benefit development, assessment of competitive landscape, review and implementation of regulatory requirements, review of marketing and other materials, responding to product-related inquiries from other UCare departments, and the annual readiness process.
• Support the development and review of product regulatory filings, member and marketing materials, competitive analysis, and other documents.
• Review relevant regulatory guidance and work with the Product Manager(s) to evaluate their impact on UCare products and benefits.
• Collaborate with Product Manager(s) to identify opportunities for competitive product development. Use project management skills to research benefit design options and advance opportunities for product improvement.
• Analyze and work within and across departments to resolve escalated product problems.
• Participate on cross-functional teams that guide development of annual product plans, track product performance and respond to emerging issues. Participate in member and broker facing and internal work groups/committees involved with the operation and performance of UCare products.
• Develop and maintain subject matter expertise regarding the structure and operation of UCare's IFP products.
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations affecting UCare's products.
• Provide project management, business analysis and other support as needed for products in UCare's portfolio.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelors' degree in business, marketing, health care/public policy or related field; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Required Experience
Two years' experience in a health plan or health care organization. Strong working knowledge of state and federal health care programs and/or commercial health plan products. Strong project management skills and proven ability to work in a matrix environment and participate in cross-functional teams. Basic understanding of health plan functions, including operations, marketing/sales, compliance, information systems, data analysis and clinical.
Preferred Experience
Demonstrated understanding of health care legislation and regulation, especially for commercial plans offered in state and federally managed Affordable Care Act (ACA) markets. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-departmental projects and/or project management certification.
