LA5 Salary Range: $47,342 - $69,762 annually

LA6 Salary Range: $51,325 - $78,318 annually

LA7 Salary Range: $56,110 - $99,570 annually

The Office is currently seeking an Investigator in the Wage Theft Unit of the Office.

A successful candidate in this position will be able to:

 

  • Uncover, investigate, and help put a stop to wage theft and other unlawful wage, hour, and employment violations that harm low-wage workers in Minnesota
  • Review complaints alleging violations of Minnesota’s wage, hour, and employment laws
  • Obtain and analyze business, payroll, financial, and other records
  • Perform field work by conducting research and interviewing victims
  • Draft witness statements and reports summarizing investigative findings
  • Work with attorneys to prepare appropriate cases for civil enforcement actions
  • Work in an inclusive, creative, and collaborative work environment with persons of diverse backgrounds, languages, and cultures
  • Show excellent judgement, character, and work ethic

This position is eligible for a hybrid work environment.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or demonstrable similar experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Skill in research and writing, critical thinking, and communication

 

To be considered at the LA6 level, candidates must have 6 years of related experience.

To be considered at the LA7 level, candidates must have 12 years of related experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or other relevant language for Minnesota
  • Education in employment law, workers’ rights, law enforcement, investigators, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, or similar field
