Here, you'll collaborate to create and implement the digital strategies that enrich the online experience through the right mix of personalization, simplicity and intuitiveness. Your ideas will support Target in complementing the beloved in-store shopping interaction with a convenient, reliable and instantly gratifying digital experience.

As a Sr Manager, Site Merchandising, your mission will be to help Target create an online shopping experience that achieves aggressive business growth goals, increases guest love and loyalty for the Target brand, and defines the future of shopping at Target and in the industry.

In this role you will drive digital growth and deliver best in class ecommerce experiences for Target's Homepage and Deals Hub. This role will be charged with delivering world class digital guest experiences as we seek to accelerate and optimize our top of funnel entry points, both for Target.com and the Target App. You will manage a team of 2 and lead cross functional teams to develop, implement, and optimize the digital merchandising strategy. Your planning and execution will drive engagement and conversion while creating a fast, fun experience that inspires guest loyalty.

  • Strategic Planning and Execution. Develop cohesive digital strategies and mobilize team to execute against those strategies in close partnership with marketing, creative, product/technology, price/promotions, operations, user experience, and item partners.
    • Homepage & Deals Strategy. With your team, you are responsible for partnering with enterprise stakeholders, site merchandising category teams, marketing & insights, and beyond to plan, develop, and optimize experiences and initiatives that best drive digital goals.
    • Core Site Merchandising. Implement and optimize site merchandising strategies that focus on conversion, findability, maximizing guest engagement, and frictionless shopping. Senior Managers both set the vision and work with the team to operationalize that vision within their team and across multiple partner teams.
    • Content Strategy. Oversee and drive the development on short and long-term content strategies, partnering with leaders across the organization to ensure alignment of overall channel strategies. Take complex business priorities and distill them into guest-centric experiences. Provide business context to creative teams for execution, ensuring content is revenue-driving, on brand, and impactful.

  • Team Leadership. Manage team of direct reports, providing development, coaching, motivation, support, and feedback. Champion diversity and inclusion, and create an atmosphere of teamwork, collaboration, agility, attention to detail, and drive.


  • Cross-Functional Partnerships. Establish strong cross-functional and cross-channel partnerships across Target. Influence and leverage other teams within the broader organization to advance digital objectives.


  • Focused on optimal guest experience, elevated creative & branding, maximizing guest engagement and shopping experience, and driving enterprise priorities and initiatives against key KPI & financial goals.


  • Analytics. Monitor, understand, and utilize data and key metrics from multiple and varied sources (devices and platforms, guest behavior, market trends, and competitive insights) to optimize short-term performance and to inform long-term strategies.
  • Provide analytical problem-solving expertise and 'end-to-end' ownership of critical on site and app experiences, utilizing a healthy blend of art & science to address the challenge at hand.


About you:
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years e-commerce experience; preference for experience in digital strategy and planning
  • Proven leadership experience with ability to lead and develop high performing team members
  • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple, disparate projects across disciplines at the same time, simultaneously managing working team & partners while driving outcomes
  • Deep business acumen with an entrepreneurial, revenue-generating mindset
  • Excellent understanding of mass merchandising, retail, e-commerce and multi-channel retailing
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic and cross-functional influence, planning and execution
  • High level of initiative and organization, with the ability to manage ambiguity, risk, uncertainty and changing directions
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership, with a personal interest in development
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including financial and business metrics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to varying levels of leadership


This position may be eligible to be virtual based (also known as full-time remote) or could be 'Flex for your Day', a hybrid model where the team member has some flexibility to choose how and where they work to maximize their productivity and well-being, based on Target's needs. Most of Target's HQ team members work 'Flex for Your Day' with a blend of virtual work and onsite at a Target HQ location. Team members work with their leader to determine how the role, team, partners and business determines the flexibility.

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target. The salary range is :$87,900.00 USD - $158,200.00 USD. Pay is based on several factors which may include, but are not limited to education, work experience, certifications, labor markets, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
