Project Engineer

PROJECT ENGINEER

Isthmus Engineering, Inc. has an opening for a Project Engineer position at our headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota. Relying on knowledge of civil engineering principles and computer-aided design CAD software, perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing transportation engineering project, including roadway and rail systems in accordance with governing design standards. Collaborate with Team members to efficiently deliver successful transportation-related projects in accordance with governing design standards. Independently integrate 3D CAD modeling and immersive modeling software to develop exhibits to support decision making. Check construction plans, design calculations, and cost estimations to ensure completeness, accuracy, and conformity to engineering standards. Confer with utility companies and government agencies to discuss plans, specifications, and work schedules. Design drainage, erosion, or sedimentation control systems for transportation projects. Document all design work and procedures in area of specialty. Position allows employee to work remotely from anywhere in the mainland United States but must be willing to physically report to home office in St. Paul, Minnesota on a quarterly basis. Requires MS in Civil Engineering with two years of experience designing transportation engineering projects, including road design using CADD, including Bentley SS10 or ORD Corridor Modeling and Civil Cells, and utilization of Minnesota Department of Transportation CADD workflow. Experience must include at least one year of experience with draining design. Position also requires certification as a Professional Engineer in Minnesota.
