The Enterprise Communications team builds confidence, pride and advocacy for Target, connecting and counseling companywide to move our $100-billion business forward. As a Senior Communications Business Partner, Crisis and Incident Response, you are the first line of defense for the Crisis Communications team in managing day-to-day response to incidents happening across the enterprise. The ideal individual in this role can remain calm under pressure while managing multiple priorities at any given time. They have significant media relations expertise and the ability to quickly research an issue, formulate a communications plan and seek buy-in from multiple internal partners. This individual has a keen understanding of current issues and curiosity for Target, the retail industry and crisis management. The ability to work with urgency and meet all deadlines is a must. This role is also responsible for assisting with media hotline on-call responsibilities on select evenings, weekends and holidays.
About you:
This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target. The salary range is :$87,900.00 USD - $158,200.00 USD. Pay is based on several factors which may include, but are not limited to education, work experience, certifications, labor markets, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family. - Minimum of 7 years of professional communications experience
- Ability to develop compelling communication strategies with clear and measurable goals
- Expert media relations skills, with a high degree of comfort working with consumer and business press
- Executive presence and the ability to coach/counsel senior leaders
- Ability to collaborate with peers and influence without authority
- Organized and able to balance multiple competing priorities on a daily basis
- Team player and effective at collaborating with multiple internal stakeholders to drive results
- Strong writer for various forms (i.e., email, media talking points)
- A storytelling mindset with business acumen
