Working within the Item Center of Excellence (Item CoE), you will work to develop, advise, and train global best methods and reporting to Item Data Specialists and partner teams. This includes governance and tracking of Best Method use and reporting of Item CoE goals related to item setup. The Sr. Item Data Process Analyst will also be responsible for representing the Item CoE in projects and cross-functional process development conversations in partnership with the Item Data Managers/Analysts/Specialists, product and partner teams. Finally, the Process Analyst will work with the Item CoE leadership team on strategy and goals for the total global team (Minneapolis and Target in India).

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Global Best Methods Development & Process Support. Work with the Item CoE leadership group and other cross-functional partners (e.g. Product teams, Merchandising, IM Ops, Target in India) to develop and improve best methods for the global CoE. The Item Data Process Analyst is expected to be an expert in all Item CoE process and systems, as well as partner teams' dependencies and interactions with the CoE. The Process Analyst will also work with the pyramid aligned Sr. Item Data Analysts to determine impacts of nuanced pyramid needs to global process.

2. Training & Communication. Communicate and train new best methods or process improvements to the global Item CoE. Direct classroom style learning groups and answer questions related Item CoE process. Act as ongoing advisor and point of contact for the Item Data Specialists for questions related to best methods and system use. Also responsible for managing the new hire training program for new Item Data Specialists and Maintenance teams.

3. Advocate for Tools & Technology. Advocate for Item CoE needs with process improvement and technology/system support. Partner with Product Teams and Tools to enable efficient execution and strong data quality. Owners of Item SharePoint workflow, and continual improvement for overall CoE knowledge management. Additionally, this role will partner with Leaders/Item Data Analysts for reporting or work flow needs.

4. Work with cross-functional partners to advise on Item CoE process. Develop and in depth knowledge of partner teams and process. Advise on implications of Item CoE work to partner teams and act in conjunction with the Item Data Managers, as process experts in cross-functional groups. Enable partner focused requirements and reporting when necessary to assist in process development.

5. Partner with Item CoE leadership on development of global goals and strategy. Help to determine goal metrics for the global Item CoE and utilize reporting development to govern goal adoption and improvement. Tie goal development to greater strategy working with Item CoE leadership group.

Desired Requirements:
  • 3+ years' experience working with a large team
  • 2+ years' experience working with Target Item Systems and processes
  • Previous experience working in Process/Operations
  • Proven project management experience
  • Experience working with international teams
