A role within Corporate Security means working with a team dedicated to protecting the Target team, guests, property, and brand. You will use our comprehensive understanding and management of evolving security risks to protect our Target community throughout the world. You may support Target's Crisis and Threat Management, Preparedness and Continuity, Forensics, Intelligence, Physical Security and Safety, Executive Services, or Operations teams.

As part of the Crisis, Continuity & Intelligence (CCI) team, you will lead the development and execution of the Business Continuity and Resiliency program. Critical priorities include the ongoing assessment and modernization of capabilities and processes to meet the challenges of an ever-evolving risk landscape. You will also use your skills and experience to cultivate strong internal and external partnerships and provide crisis leadership as part of the Headquarters Incident Leader (HQIL) on-call rotation.

The primary focus of this position in Corporate Security is to continually develop and execute Target's Business Continuity program. By providing strategic development and execution of an enterprise-wide business continuity and risk management strategy, you will use your skills and experience to ensure Target is a resilient organization. You will accomplish this by proactively building internal relationships across the organization to help identify the most meaningful opportunities to mitigate Target's most-pressing continuity risks. Success will be determined by your ability to maintain a strong understanding of Target's operations and capabilities, identify continuity risks (team member, facility, application or vendor) and build effective plans to mitigate those risks, and develop ongoing internal partnerships with key constituents.

  • Serve as continuity consultant for a portfolio of business units across the enterprise and lead end-to-end continuity efforts (plan, exercise, etc.)
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate exercises and simulations to identify gaps in continuity and resiliency
  • Identify critical needs for the Business Continuity program and develop strategies for improvement
  • Participates as an on-call leader to provide guidance and direction to the Corporate Command Center (C3) team, and function as a Headquarters Incident Leader (HQIL) during activations of Target's cross-functional crisis response group (Green Team)
  • Support disaster recovery and preparedness efforts to mitigate, prepare, respond to and recover from significant events and incidents that impact Target Corporation
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of daily watch operations; provide support when required including establishing and maintaining watch floor procedures/protocols, incident assessment, validation, and escalation
  • Champion programmatic change development that continually improves Target's overall risk profile and business resiliency capabilities
  • Design, document and implement simple, actionable business continuity plans surrounding Target's most critical business operations
  • Expand integration of business continuity with other Target risk management programs
  • Identify and use data to plan and manage the delivery of business continuity support and services
  • Build partnerships internally that enable for the reduction of our vendor risk profile
  • Establish new internal and external partnerships that help influence the development and maturity of the program

About you:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+years of relevant work experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflict, build consensus, establish rapport and collaborate effectively across departments
