Overview

You will work cross-functionally to prototype innovative and high level in-store marketing elements, maintaining economies and ease of execution, while ensuring design intent is met in execution.

Function

Responsible for new Store Experience Marketing (SEM) element design within full category(ies) or business(es). Constantly researching the latest retail trends and production technologies and discovering ways to incorporate them into the SEM environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manages prototype /design phase of new projects within their category/business with oversight across all areas of the store to ensure consistency of new sign formats and tools.

• Directs the specification and quality of print and manufacturing by managing all prototypes.

• Directs internal and external teams on execution of color or dielines decisions.

• Requests estimates from vendors for new work, obtaining multiple estimates when time allows.

• Finalizes specs for ISM elements: dielines, materials, production processes.

• Research and development of store formats, materials, hardware, sign holders and other marketing elements that present ROI potential, considering and suggesting uses outside of assigned category.

• Provide expertise on materials and production to SEM teams, driving continuous improvement.

• Develops new marketing tools for new and unique store prototypes and remodels.

• Sources new suppliers for non-standard signing/sign holder elements, evaluates their capabilities, recommends new relationships, materials and production processes.

• Onboard new vendor partnerships.

• Maintains strong partnerships with Target Properties, and Creative teams, as well as key external vendors.

• Creates initial estimates for new elements.

• Champions new ideas, team strategies, goals, and objectives.

• Recognizes outstanding team accomplishments and helps motivate the team.

• Responsible for ensuring safety, legal, and patent guidelines.

About You:

• Experience in prototyping and manufacturing of 2 and 3D elements

• 8+ years' experience in designing and prototyping print and dimensional products

• Understands global industry, emerging materials, and printing techniques

• Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks

• A demeanor that welcomes feedback, enjoys working in a collaborative, iterative, and agile process.

• Strong creative and technical design skills

• Demonstrated ability to deliver on projects from beginning to end with knowledge of how a pipeline supports the process

• Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and straightforward manner

• Strong interpersonal skills & thrives in a team environment

• Shown problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in retail design, product design, industrial design, digital arts, or equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and training.

• A portfolio with relevant projects demonstrating high level execution.

This position is considered a Full-Time Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $67,600 to $121,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
