Description:
About us:
As a Fortune 50 company with more than 350,000 team members worldwide, Target is an iconic brand and one of America's leading retailers.
Working at Target means the opportunity to help all families discover the joy of everyday life. Caring for our communities is woven into who we are, and we invest in the places we collectively live, work and play. We prioritize relationships, fuel and develop talent by creating growth opportunities, and succeed as one Target team. At our core, our purpose is ingrained in who we are, what we value, and how we work. It's how we care, grow, and win together.
Target Creative is the in-house creative agency dedicated to bringing one of the world's most beloved and recognizable brands to life. Whether through design, marketing or brand work, we are the driving force behind delivering Target's dynamic, inventive and unmistakable storytelling to its massive global audience. Our mission is to inspire a sense of joy, wonder and excitement, and to take our guests-and ourselves-somewhere new. Never resting on past wins or settling for anything less than extraordinary, our origin story built us to thrive in the competitive and changing retail marketplace. We tell a compelling and cohesive brand story, maximizing our messages across multiple platforms-whether via a digital art gallery or a new $1 billion children's clothing brand. Operating as one fully integrated team in both the U.S. and overseas, Target Creative comprises the best and brightest talent to execute market-leading creative strategy, design, writing, video production, operations, digital, UX, social media and more. We leverage smart and rewarding external partnerships while closely aligning with our Target teams. Together, we tackle every creative challenge with our amplified strengths, ultimately bearing the groundbreaking creative work that helps make Target the decisive guest favorite, year after year.
As an Associate Creative Director for Store Experience Marketing, you'll provide creative direction for in-store marketing & engaging retail experiences inside Target stores. You'll lead internal and external creative teams and agencies to develop smart, imaginative, clear & compelling creative for our owned brands and national brands, impacting total category & storewide systems, as well as seasonal themes that bring the joy of each season to life at Target stores. You're able to imagine ideas in a physical space, including dimensional elements & structures that create retail theater. You'll create work that radiates the Target brand (voice + culture), seamlessly integrating a broad audience segment point of view.
In this role, you will work with creative strategists and planners to solve business challenges through creativity and innovation while partnering with other creative disciplines to produce elevated, effective executions that inspire and guide our guests. You'll collaborate with the Retail Brand Experience team - (Visual Merchandising, Packaging and Store Experience Planning & ops teams) to ensure compelling, connected, storytelling that enhances product display and experience and pushes beyond the 2D plane. You will excel in conceptual thinking, and bring your total creative experience in Graphic Design, Art Direction, Typography and overall Creative Direction to the work. You inspire and mentor the creative team and are responsible for providing clear, actionable and timely creative feedback. Critical to this role is staying current with retail trends and experiences, developing competent base knowledge of retail categories and guest behaviors, and being a passionate advocate for great design in the store environment. We will support you along the way with onboarding, as well as personal and career development, to help you grow as a strong Associate Creative Director. Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.
