Software Quality Assurance Analyst

Location : Minneapolis, MN

Position Description

Responsible for software and system test creation and planning for UCare systems, databases, user interfaces. Testing will include manual and automated test design and execution for functional, integration, regression, data integrity, compatibility, and performance testing required to meet business requirements. Responsible for following software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance best practices. Develop software and electrical system testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability. Collaborate with business partners, IT team leads, project leads, business analysts, and end users to design, plan, execute, and validate electronic system and software test scenarios, scripts, and/or procedures to test system modifications and receive business user acceptance prior to implementation. Develop test plans and test cases for deployment verification, ETL data validation, cube testing and report testing. Writing complex SQL, PL/SQL testing scripts for backend testing for data warehouse applications. Utilize Informatica Power Center for extraction, transformation, and loading processes. Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates. Participate in product design reviews, providing expertise on functional requirements, product design, schedules, or potential risks and complications in software design and functionality. Review software and electronic system documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks. Identify, analyze, and document problems with software program and system function, output, online screens, or content. Document software and system defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to product managers or leads. Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes. Comply with standards and tollgates of the software development life cycle and follow strategies, plans, and procedures within IT. Utilize the following tools and technologies: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, Toad for Oracle, Informatica Power Center, PuTTY, XML, PL/SQL, and SQL. Position allows working from home within commuting distance of worksite in Minneapolis, MN.

Education

The position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, or closely related field.

Required Experience

The qualified candidate must have at least 5 years (60 months) of experience in a software engineering position or closely related occupation. The qualified candidate must also have at least 5 years (60 months) of experience with all of the following: (a) reviewing business requirement documents and functional specifications; (b) developing test plans and test cases for deployment verification, ETL data validation, cube testing and report testing; (c) writing complex SQL, PL/SQL testing scripts for backend testing for data warehouse applications; (d) utilizing Informatica Power Center for extraction, transformation, and loading processes; (e) performing functional, regression, data integrity, system, and compatibility testing; and (f) working with the following tools and technologies: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, Toad for Oracle, Informatica Power Center, PuTTY, XML, PL/SQL, and SQL. All experience may be gained concurrently.
