Software Engineer Senior - ETL Informatica

Location : Minneapolis, MN

Position Description

Responsible for the design, delivery, support, and maintenance of data integration solutions - primarily using Informatica PowerCenter. Design, develop, implement, test, analyze, and support data integration software applications. Research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. Analyze and debug in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports where required. Collaborate with other engineers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and developing new data integration programs and applications. Write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications. Plan phases of software development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of projects. Research, finalize, consult, and document business, functional, and technical requirements. Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications. Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, increasing performance through SQL tuning, and general debugging. Perform critical analysis of QA results and deliver updates to ensure excellent data quality. Assist in resolving problems associated with the integration of Informatica with schedulers, databases, file transport protocols, and external trading partners. Generate statistics and prepare and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process. Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or appearance of company website and/or related web applications as necessary. Create Automic (UC4) jobs and schedule per the requirements of each project. Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades. Perform tactical data analysis, data integration, migration, unit testing, and regression tasks as part of the application development life cycle. Develop complex ETL mappings including modifying existing mappings and building new mappings utilizing Informatica. Utilize the following tools/technologies: Informatica, SQL Server, Oracle, PL-SQL, UC4 Automic, PowerShell, Windows Operating System, and Linux Operating System. Position allows working from home anywhere in the United States. Headquarters located at 500 Stinson Blvd NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413.

Education

The position requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or closely related field.

Required Experience

The qualified candidate must have at least 3 years (36 months) of experience in a software engineering/development position or closely related occupation. The qualified candidate must also have at least 3 years (36 months) of experience with all of the following: (a) designing, developing, implementing, testing, analyzing, and supporting data software applications; (b) developing SQL store procedures to copy data across databases; (c) developing complex ETL mappings including modifying existing mappings and building new mappings utilizing Informatica; (d) performing tactical data analysis, data integrations, migrations, unit testing, and regression tasks; and (e) utilizing the following tools/technologies: Informatica, SQL Server, Oracle, PL-SQL, UC4 Automic, PowerShell, Windows Operating System, and Linux Operating System. All experience may be gained concurrently.
