A role with the Pricing & Promotion Center of Excellence (COE) means you're on a mission with merchants to develop the enterprise-wide pricing and promotion strategies. Your work will impact millions of dollars in the form of everyday retail prices, promotional strategy and effectiveness, clearance management and competitive pricing. Here, you'll be a key business consultant to merchants and develop relationships with buyers, senior buyers and leaders. Your strong partnership with Marketing will bring offers to life for guests, and you'll also work closely with Store Operations, Finance and other key support areas.

The Director Pricing & Promotions Strategy & Planning - Apparel & Accessories ("A&A") builds and implements enterprise-wide promotional & pricing strategies by aggregating & synthesizing competitive datasets. These strategies affect everyday retails, promotional intensity, clearance management and competitive price & promo. This position focuses on developing and advancing the pricing and promotional strategies for A&A categories in service of the overall Target Price & Promotions strategy and leads a team of Price and Promo Strategy & Planning Analysts.

• Use strong critical thinking and communication skills to educate merchants and other key partners to influence promo & pricing strategies and tactics to achieve merchant financial plans.

• Translate insights into recommended offer portfolio & plans, outlining the objectives met and any gaps/choices for Merchandising Divisional input.

• Finalize offer plan/calendar and work with Sr. Director, PPCOE Discretionary- A&A, to influence and gain approval from the merchant team.

• Synthesize multiple data sources to determine short and long-term effective price position for assigned categories.

• Ensure consistent price position in every market in line with the enterprise, department, and category strategies.

• Proactively identify areas where pricing is not aligned to strategy and/or guidelines and recommend actions to course correct

• Actively engage and understand merchant business strategies, objectives and outcomes.

• Interpret financial and operational performance to identify business risks and opportunities.

• Take an active role in training Team Members across the Merchandising partnerships on pricing tools and strategies.

• Develop process improvements using strategic problem-solving skills.

• Drive collaborative dialogue and processes within Price & Promo Center of Excellence teams.

• Drive cross-functional partnership with Marketing, Finance/MFA, Stores and Digital to ensure partner alignment on Price and Promo strategies and the execution of these strategies.

• Lead and develop a team of Price & Promo Strategy & Planning Sr. Insight Analysts providing strategic work direction, coaching, and career development.

• Demonstrate peer leadership in change leadership and sharing best practices across the A&A team.

About you:
  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years' experience in retail or relevant business experience at a management level with an emphasis in pricing strategy, capabilities and tools
  • Deep apparel industry retail experience and expertise
  • Prior direct leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering high impact pricing/promotions strategies, programs, execution, and analysis
  • Willingness to foster a data-driven culture in managing a business
  • Success linking pricing strategy to business model with the ability to take calculated risks in a transformational and ambiguous environment
  • Strategic thinker with innovative problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maximize relationships
