JOB POSITION: Lead AI Engineer
LOCATION: 7000 Target Parkway N, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445
DUTIES: Design and develop software systems that enable AI innovation using test-driven development and employing continuous integration practices; design, build, and maintain software that will enable rapid prototyping, training, and validation of machine learning systems that leverage computer vision, natural language processing, and reinforcement learning; work with scientists, engineers, and business partners to create high-quality, distributed, large-scale solutions using Agile practices and DevOps principles; be responsible for designing, programming, debugging, and supporting solutions; partner with stakeholders, engineers and AI scientists to design and develop software that meets business needs; implement architectures and build software algorithms to handle web-scale data and its organization; execute strategies that inform data design and architecture in partnership with enterprise-wide standards; and leverage expertise in Java and Python to develop algorithms which are compute-efficient and low-latency. Tools and technologies used: Java, Python, Scala, Go, Cassandra DB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Spring, Spring Boot, Git, Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Hive, Kubernetes, GRPC, Oozie, Maven, IntelliJ. Position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance to Minneapolis-area Target office, as directed.
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Master's degree in Computer Science or closely related field and at least three (3) years of experience in software engineering (any title) defining business and technical requirements, supporting all phases of the software development lifecycle (including requirements definition, architecture design, software implementation, and testing), supporting research of emerging issues and industry best practices, using Agile methodology and test-driven development, defining functional specifications and system configuration, and developing applications with Java. Position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance to Minneapolis-area Target office, as directed.
