Description:
Director Planning Operations (Financial and Operations)
About us:
As a Fortune 50 company with more than 350,000 team members worldwide, Target is an iconic brand and one of America's leading retailers.
Target Merchandising is evolving at an incredible pace. We are constantly reimagining how this +$100 billion retailer offers the innovative, guest-inspiring items that Target is known and loved for. Our goal is to deliver exceptional value, quality and style to elevate Target as the premier retailer in a competitive global marketplace. Through intelligent and progressive business strategies that make the most of Target's resources and partnerships worldwide, Merchandising works across product categories to create a localized shopping experience online and in our 1900 stores. Are you a creative problem solver who loves to see your work translate into real results? Can you collaborate effectively, execute a plan efficiently and positively influence how Target chooses and presents the right product in the right place at the right price? If so, you will have success on one of our dynamic teams.
A role in Planning means overseeing the financials and forecasting for Target's businesses. Here, you'll conduct comparative analysis of holiday or other seasonal performance and provide the insights that inform the Inventory team's work to ensure that product supports projected sales. Acting as the hub between Merchandising and Supply Chain, you will create a financial link between these two essential groups and have a voice in some of the most important decisions from a financial strategy standpoint. In this role, you will be the primary Principal in leading the coordination of the transformation of both our financial metrics and business management/investment/demand management processes and their translation into our financial forecasts for the Planning Organization.
As a Director Planning Operations, you own processes that deliver informed forward looking perspective and recommendations for planning and senior enterprise leadership on critical business decisions, including our multi year strategic plans, financial forecasts, and demand plans. You connect planning across the enterprise and develop a consolidated view of the financial and operational forecasts put forward by business teams, and drive go-forward decision making with cross-enterprise teams. You will manage reconciliation of our results with our quarterly, annual, and long range plans, and lead efforts to mitigate gaps. You will manage enterprise financial and operational routines that thoughtfully sequence work ensuring that operating norms, calendars, tools, and training are in place to support planning teams. You translate LRP goals into financial and operational guidelines (such as Sales, GMROI, Depth, SKU count, WOS, Turnover) across businesses and manage enterprise scenario planning, rollups, and integration with our integrated operating forecast and financial plan. You will set direction and guidance for forecast creation, and manage the roll up and reconciliation of demand and capacity driving integration with GIM, S&OP and other enterprise partners. You will lead with insights and analytics, partnering closely with insights teams to improve availability and consistency of information, and cultivate an environment where the planning and planning operations teams translate insights into recommendations. You will develop and accelerate planning talent, creating a pipeline for the organization providing hands-on coaching and development opportunities to leads and planners. You will ensure a common understanding of goals, objectives and outcomes across a diverse and vast set of stakeholder groups as well as Sr. Leadership. This role requires a leader who is curious, has excellent collaboration and communication skills, is willing to take risks, is a critical thinker with a continuous improvement mindset, has an elite analytical skillset and financial background, and has experience working across and integrating data, partner team inputs, and macro insights to shape narratives and drive business decisions with the Sr. Leadership team.
