About the Job:

The Director of Available To Promise (ATP) is responsible for setting the product strategy to intelligently serve the relevant fulfillment options to millions of Target guests on Target's digital platform. This role will identify key opportunities in Guest Order Fulfillment space and develop strategy that accounts for facets from competitors, guest research, industry and economic trends to improve Target's guest experience and digital conversion. The role will lead a team of product owners to develop product plans to deliver features for order promising, inventory availability messaging, fulfillment restrictions, delivery date accuracy, digital profitability and order consolidation. This position is accountable to collaborate with multiple enterprise teams to establish priorities and remove roadblocks to maximize productivity and deliver business value.

Product teams have one shared backlog that is inclusive of all product, technology and design work.

As a Product Director, you will set the overall strategic vision for your product space and product team, are accountable for succeeding against identified business outcomes and metrics, will set and manage the product's budget and financials, set the short and long term product goals, and quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

You will be accountable for building, coaching, and mentoring a strong team of product owners while also building a strong team culture of progress, transparency, and efficiency across Product teams. You will be responsible to elevate your collective team's performance by providing insightful, motivating, and constructive feedback to all roles on the team while also working with senior leadership and peers across pyramids to negotiate and remove execution related barriers for your teams.

You will drive product discovery with key stakeholders to validate hypotheses and concepts with customers before committing engineering time, as you lead highly complex work across multiple pyramids, with interrelated specialties. You will leverage data and analytics to provide competitive analysis, drive decision making, assess the health and effectiveness of your products and related P&L impacts, and to deliver recommendations to key stakeholders.

It will be critical that you possess an understanding of retail or similar area, relevant technologies and design principles in order to drive innovative and scalable solutions across multiple pyramids within Target.

About you:

  • 4-year college degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of retail experience or equivalent domain experience
  • 2-3 years of product management experience in retail on equivalent domain
  • Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to influence both at a strategic leadership level and cross functionally
  • Expert at working in the agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas)
  • Strategic mindset and bias for action with strong ability for strategic planning, defining ORKs and driving business outcomes
  • Ability to lead and influence a team while fostering relationships across multiple enterprise-wide teams
