As a Contingent Labor Systems Management Sr. Professional, you will act as a trusted advisor to your clients and team and provide VMS (Vendor Management Solution) expertise to create world class procurement processes and experiences in support of Target's contingent labor program. You will drive continuous improvement by understanding VMS system best practices, analyzing current usage, and evaluating new ideas against strategic priorities and company directives. Working cross-functionally, you'll lead process optimization and associated change management exercises that are focused on evolving current business processes. You will continuously learn and demonstrate proficiency in VMS configuration and platform best practices. You will need to leverage you knowledge of VMS, as well as client/vendor feedback and establish other relevant data points to assess value, develop business cases, and prioritize the direction and desired outcomes of the VMS. You will independently lead interactions with relevant partners in product and technology to identify, design and configure VMS experiences (functionality and process). You will maintain and develop expertise in VMS environment and use it to support integrations, resolve issues, recommend and develop creative solutions that enhance business value. Additionally, you will utilize metrics, trends and root cause analysis to anticipate impacts to the user experience.

You will have the opportunity to communicate and present to internal and external stakeholders as you demonstrate the proficiency to engage with Sr. Leadership using tailored messaging and/or storytelling, and are skilled at driving and managing change across the organization with speed and agility. Working closely with suppliers, you will effectively manage supplier relationships to drive value and ensure alignment with Target's goals. Your participation in regular vendor collaboration will influence functional support escalations, existing road map, and prioritization/design of future functionality.

As an expert in the contingent labor industry, you have a deep understanding of the contractor management process. Following market trends with the contingent labor industry, you will evaluate industry best practices to enhance the Target program. Using your skills and experiences, you will identify opportunities and determine effective ways to mitigate risks. You will maintain awareness of policies and deploy best practices in ethical business behavior. As a Sr. Professional on the team, you will help to drive engagement, lead discussions, provide guidance, and coordinate processes across the Contingent Labor team. You will build and influence team culture, through empathy and a commitment to development of peers and self.

About you:
  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience supporting technical systems; VMS system experience preferred
  • Strong project management skillset to lead cross-functional projects, execute against a timeline, and track progress in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in systems management (master data management, configuration, workflow development)
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong system skills and technical aptitude/interest
  • Ability to facilitate evaluation of new features between business and technology teams
  • Culture champion with proven experience inspiring peers and cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Contingent labor experience desired


This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target. The salary range is :$67,600.00 USD - $121,700.00 USD. Pay is based on several factors which may include, but are not limited to education, work experience, certifications, labor markets, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
