DUTIES
Major job functions include supervising nursing staff to assure resident needs are met. This includes: monitoring resident needs, condition and care; administering medications and treatments as ordered by the physician; orders and receives medications from the pharmacy; admits and discharges residents; oversees TMA/NAR staff; ensures narcotic policy and procedures are followed; monitors for side effects of medication and reports prn; ensures resident care plans are being followed.
In addition, the RN Supervisor will respond to emergencies in a timely manor; ensure smooth transition of nursing care for previous/following shifts; Assists scheduling of nursing staff to meet needs of facility; Trains employees in proper work practices for new staff and continues safety and infection control training on a regular basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires RN or LPN licensure with the MN Board of Nursing. Must have current CPR certification. Preference is given to applicants with previous experience in medical, surgical or geriatric nursing. Must have a desire to work with the elderly. Must maintain confidentiality to ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
