Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare has an opening in St. Paul, Minnesota for a Motion Analysis Laboratory Engineer II to conduct biomechanics research related to technical and clinical aspects of motion analysis, apply findings to operation of Motion Analysis Laboratory, lead research team and confer with research personnel, and educate others on biomedical/ biomechanics principles and research developments in gait analysis.  Develop software to conduct research and streamline data collection protocols, identifying new technologies for laboratory.  Participate in collection of patient gait and research data, oversee quality of gait data overall, and administer corrective measures if needed.  Train technicians and clinicians on new technologies, protocols, and proper use of equipment.  Stay abreast of current literature of scientific and technological advances.  Use software packages and technologies, such as MATLAB and Vicon Nexus, as well as programming, in performing engineering activities.  Requires: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or any engineering field, plus two (2) years of experience 1) performing biomechanics/biomedical engineering research, 2) conducting gait and motion analysis, 3) leading engineering projects and people on research developments in gait analysis, 4) with software programming and development, and 5) using Vicon Nexus and at least one of the following software packages: Visual Basic or MATLAB.
