DATA ANALYST SENIOR - HEALTH CARE ECONOMICS

Work Location: Work from Home or Office for Your Day

Position Description

As a Data Analyst Senior, you will be responsible to analyze and interpret complex data sets to derive meaningful insights and drive informed decision-making for Enterprise Reporting. Your expertise in data analysis and SQL will be essential to ensure accuracy, quality, and integrity of the organizations' data. In addition, you will be responsible to identify and understand source data through profiling, participation in UAT, and troubleshooting to support UCare's self-service data analytics program to modernize its data management capabilities, as needed.

• Participate in data requirements gathering discussions with data consumers, along with data architect, and Subject Matter Expert (SME).

• Develop and maintain SQL queries and scripts to extract, manipulate, and transform data from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.

• Analyze data sources and document the outcome of data analysis to meet the requirements of the department engagement.

• Maintain and support monthly data extracts and reports.

• On an ad-hoc basis, conduct analysis and provide actionable recommendations to the business that will support strategic decision-making.

• Create and maintain business objects reports and dashboards using tools such as Business Objects and Tableau, as needed.

• Participate in discussions (along with data architect) to explain/demonstrate to data consumers how the data interfaces/models are meeting their requirements.

• Participate in user acceptance testing on behalf of data consumers as necessary.

• Represent Health Care Economics on various UCare cross-departmental projects as an active contributor and supporting resource.

• Adapt and learn new reporting tools or technologies as required, to ensure the organization continues to maintain best practices and accelerates into the future of analytics.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree. Demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

At least five years of experience as a Data Analyst preferably in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment. Expert SQL skills. At least three years' experience with data analysis and manipulation. Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Business Objects and Power BI, statistical concepts is a plus. Effective communication skills, with the ability to present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Experience

Reporting or statistics-based experience in a mid to large size organization. Advanced Excel, and/or BI experience. Health insurance or Healthcare industry experience.
