Ink Jet Press Operator - SECOND SHIFT
Summary
This position is responsible for accurately and efficiently operating an Ink Jet printing press producing a large variety of printed applications including scannable documents.
Position Responsibilities
Efficiently set up and operate an Ink Jet Web press and all finishing components.
Production of accurate and quality documents meeting customer specifications and or scanning requirements based on a thorough knowledge of printing and color requirements and the production standards of OMR, and Image scanning.
Read and understand job tickets specifications: challenge conflicting or incomplete information.
Perform all quality checks during and after the production process to ensure that the finished product meets customer’s specifications and expectations. Must conform to known scannable quality standards.
Monitor and accurately record hours worked, paper consumption and ink usage for job costing and billing documentation.
Achieve daily production goals with a minimum of waste and rework due to quality issues.
Troubleshoot printing problems effectively with minimal waste of time and materials.
Perform maintenance on equipment as needed for optimal equipment performance and high quality print production.
Follow schedules and directions provided by management.
When requested, work closely with customers during the printing and finishing production processes in a professional manner.
Work area(s) kept clean and organized.
Complete special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years’ press, digital press operations or related experience.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and basic mathematical skills.
Preferred
Must possess excellent planning and organization skills
Good mechanical aptitude
Good computer skills including file handling.
Ability to communicate effectively
Work hours must be flexible and adaptable to meet the requirements of the workloads and schedules.
Reporting to this position: No direct reports
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift objects of 50 pounds or more routinely
The majority of a shift is spent standing and walking
The ability to work around and with a large variety of chemicals.
