Description: The pay range is $67,600.00 - $121,700.00

A role in Strategy and Operations means creating the effective and efficient processes and tools that Legal Affairs uses to deliver exceptional service to their enterprise clients. Your support will be key in times of change and to ensure the success of large-scale business projects. You'll build valuable relationships and make a positive impact as you coordinate critical resources across teams.

As a Sr Legal Affairs Strategy and Operations Consultant, you will:

  • Establish key relationships across the Legal Affairs pyramid to understand business priorities, support execution of projects and initiatives, and develop an intimate understanding of data sources and analytic needs
  • Create and deliver financial analysis on a routine basis and support annual financial planning processes on behalf of the pyramid; Develop and run budget modeling for investment planning and reconciliation and pro-actively analyze data to support expense and resource optimization efforts
  • Collaborate with leaders to understand analytic priorities, identify root cause and mitigation tactics for errors in data collection or processing, and develop new and enhanced reporting that provides real-time business information to decision makers; support strategic planning efforts and enable proactive expense and resource allocation by continually evaluating and refining reporting methodologies, tools and practices
  • Serve as subject matter expert for management reporting and provide training, resources and communications to support the adoption of self-service reporting capabilities; lead troubleshooting and access management efforts to maintain effective use of reporting tools
  • Develop analysis and reporting to enhance and drive vendor optimization with key outside counsel partners
  • Provide project management support for pyramid-wide, and intra pyramid initiatives; leverage industry acknowledged project management methodologies and lead efforts to identify project scope, budget, timelines, milestones, and deliverables; ensure appropriate documentation throughout the project lifecycle and establish processes to secure approvals or key decisions, and to identify issue resolution techniques; serve as primary point of contact and liaison for assigned projects, ensuring all stakeholders have a clear understanding of their responsibilities, that escalations are appropriately managed, and that project leaders and sponsors are kept informed of project status

About you:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or other related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in data analysis and project management; previous experience supporting Legal Affairs initiatives preferred
  • Highly organized, with strong detail orientation and a bias for accuracy
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to leverage data to influence decisions and problem solve
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks or projects in response to changing or competing priorities
  • Proven ability to communicate complex concepts to peers and stakeholders, in both written and verbal formats
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining appropriate prioritization and ensuring adherence to deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to change and navigate a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft suite of products with emphasis on Microsoft Excel


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with legal technology, including Legal Tracker, Hummingbird, Exterro, and Anaqua


This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
