HEALTH EQUITY PROJECT MANAGER

Work Location: Office for Your Day

Position Description

As the Health Equity Project Manager, you will be responsible for organizing, monitoring, and evaluating quality and health equity projects to improve health outcomes for the members we serve. In addition, you will help analyze, interpret, and recommend actionable insights to design programs and tailor interventions to engage those most burdened by health and racial disparities. You will serve as a trusted business partner to departments as they develop and implement health equity processes, policies, and procedures in their department work plans.

• Examine complex organizational issues to identify, develop, execute, and evaluate action plans to achieve organizational health equity priorities.

• Facilitate multifaceted quality and health equity improvement projects, working across the organization to develop sustainable improvements and monitoring outcomes.

• Strengthen health equity strategies within the population health assessments, including analyzing and interpreting a wide variety of research data and developing actionable insights that reduces health disparities and improve health outcomes.

• Coordinate all implementation and evaluations of demographic data to identify populations experiencing disparities to include sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) data collection, storage, and retrieval.

• Support the development of a coordinated community engagement model approach through facilitation of decision-making processes between the community and UCare leaders to capture and implement input that improves health services for UCare members.

• Create and manage the health equity dashboard to monitor progress towards organizational health equity priorities.

• Utilize health equity tools to understand health equity efforts, identify opportunities for improvement and implement action plans to improve health equity.

• Create and maintain the Health Equity SharePoint for resources, professional development, trainings, and educational outreach for UCare staff.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Business, Social Work, Public Administration, Public Relations, Urban Studies, or a closely related field; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

At least five years of related experience in healthcare work focused on health equity, health disparities, quality management and/or population health.

At least two years' experience leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of multi-level quality management and health strategies and programs to improve business and health outcomes.

Strong project management experience with an understanding of project management concepts and methodologies.

Strong understanding of healthcare quality models (e.g., STARS, HEDIS, CAHPS)

Strong communication skills (written and oral) to build consensus amongst various stakeholders with different viewpoints to co-create initiatives designed on advancing equity and anti-racism.

Preferred Experience

Experience navigating and negotiating organizational change in large, complex organizations.
