Description: The pay range is $87,900.00 - $158,200.00

Merchandising Insights is the engine working to create the most informed Merchandising team in retail. As a member of this cutting-edge, data-driven team, you will help pioneer and lead efforts to advance our insights capabilities and routines across Merchandising. This team works cross functionally across the organization, partnering with various product teams, strategic partners, and Merchandising and Enterprise Segmentation teams, driving innovation in how our teams run their business. Merchandising Insights is well known for its signature ability to drive critical business insights and build the very best teams, and we infuse our work with Target's distinctive retail brand by continuously experimenting, evolving and innovating. Working within Merchandising Insights, your mission will be to partner across assigned businesses to properly understand critical business needs, define solutions, and bridge with our overall capabilities roadmap to drive continuous innovation and elevation of key business functions.

As a Lead Consultant, you'll create and execute strategic roadmaps that advance our insights capabilities across various categories of our business down to specific Guest and geographic segmentation initiatives. In partnership with business leaders, you will drive the necessary prioritization and solutions across both internal and external partner teams to drive new, data-driven behaviors that help unlock a more strategic, guest-centric approach that will influence Merchandising and Enterprise Segmentation strategies and processes. By leveraging the product model approach, you'll build empathy, understanding, and robust relationships with Merchandising leaders and teams to define and create tailored insights solutions that leverage Company, Competitive, and Guest-based insights to inform key decisions and processes across the business and segmentation spectrum. You will leverage your strong analytical thinking, Guest-first mindset and team leadership capabilities to motivate and shepherd key priorities with product and support teams. We'll support you along the way with strong onboarding, as well as personal and career development, to help you grow as a strong Lead Consultant. The exciting part of retail? It's always changing!

About You:
  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of work experience in Merchandising, Category Management, Product Management, and/or Strategy
  • Strong conceptual skills and ability to translate concepts into actionable insights and tactics
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, project management, and communication skills
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly and accurately
  • Track record of success in dealing effectively with complex projects entailing frequent interaction with senior executives.


This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
