DIGITAL CONTENT CREATOR – COMMUNICATIONS – FULL-TIME
Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid (MMLA) seeks a full-time Digital Content Creator. The Digital Content Creator is responsible for (1) Creating social media content on multiple channels each day; (2) creating and revising collateral materials; and (3) maintaining content on MMLA’s website.
This position reports to the Communications Manager and is based in MMLA’s Minneapolis Office. This position allows for a hybrid work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply the principles of MMLA’s Racial Justice Values Statement in all interactions.
- A strong commitment to justice, including diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
Social Media:
- Create consistent, meaningful content on social media platforms that embraces MMLA’s brand identity to increase social media awareness and engagement. Possess an understanding of MMLA’s varied constituencies, audiences. Communicate with social media followers. Respond to queries in a timely manner.
- Proactively gather and organize information from MMLA staff about upcoming events, significant court decisions, offsite events, streaming events, and advocacy work.
- Take photos and create visual and/or video content for use in social media posts.
- Travel within MMLA’s service area to capture content.
- Stay up to date on best practices and emerging trends in social media.
- Assist staff in webinar presentations hosted on social media.
- Track analytics, stay on top of trends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Collateral Design (Brochures, ads, annual report, etc.):
- Render and present design mockups for revision, feedback and guidance/direction for final design and print proof.
- Proactively manage the timelines and workflow of digital and print design projects.
- Maintain the brand's consistency across all materials.
- Create and maintain a database of organizational brochures.
- Create a digital library/inventory of MMLA’s work, e.g., media coverage and self-produced media.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Website:
- Create and maintain content.
- Participate in development and training of employees in editing and posting to the organization website.
- Coordinate with guidance of Communications Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice and cultural awareness.
- Ability to write concise, engaging copy with attention to detail and accuracy, relying on AP Style standards.
- Expertise with social media platforms, including, but not limited to, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, StreamYard and YouTube.
- Proficiency and ability to take initiative in creating and editing video.
- Proficiency in creating visual assets through graphic design tools, including Canva and Adobe InDesign/Adobe Suite products.
- Experience with WordPress website platform.
- Photography skills.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office required.
SALARY: $59,566 to 63,316 per year, dependent on experience, plus benefits. Benefits include family medical and dental insurance, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, 403(b) with employer match, FSA, employee assistance programs, and generous paid time off. We operate on a 4.5-day workweek, ending at noon on Fridays.
