Associate Security Engineer

Best Buy has an opening for an Associate Security Engineer position. This position will report to the headquarters in Richfield, Minnesota. This position provides a telecommuting benefit allowing the employee to reside anywhere in the United States. The Associate Security Engineer will plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information. Duties include: firewall and networking connectivity configuration review; project work on firewall and access control assessments, audits, and remediation activity; assist in improving Network Security posture across Best Buy; firewall configuration analysis; assess and report security weaknesses and their risk; operate network and firewall analysis tools; perform research to understand how data communicates over Best buy networks; work directly with Best Buy application teams to review application communication methods and document the required firewall rules; perform regular audits of firewall configurations; coordinate implementation of computer system plan with establishment personnel and outside vendors; train users and promote security awareness to ensure system security and to improve server and network efficiency; document computer security and emergency measures policies, procedures, and tests; perform risk assessments and execute tests of data processing system to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures; maintain a secure computing experience for Best Buy's customers, workforce, and partners; provide cyber security governance within Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. While specializing in Network Security, the Associate Security Engineer role will have opportunities to work with other teams within information security governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance. This position requires travel to the Richfield headquarters 2 times a year for ERC functions and events. Requires Master's degree or equivalent foreign degree in Information Security Management, Information Technology, Informatics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related Information Technology discipline, plus at least 2 years of experience (1) performing firewall configuration and network security; (2) applying networking and associated protocols (TCP/IP, IDS/IPS, DNS, and/or ARP); (3) using Linux, Unix, and/or Cisco networking products; and (4) monitoring and maintain information security compliance standards. The pay ranges from $98,613.00/yr to $116,501.00/yr. Best Buy offers standard benefits offered to full-time employees.
