Embedded Systems Engineer

Best Buy Co., Inc., headquartered in Richfield, Minnesota (Hennepin County), has an opening for an Embedded Systems Engineer. Engage in projects that cover the full spectrum of the embedded systems design, development, and deployment towards the overall growth and development of Best Buy's digital healthcare services. Debug embedded systems and develop firmware. Collaborate with others on new developments involving networks of wireless, wearable, physiological sensors. Engage in feature implementation and performance testing. Design, implement, and document test software. Develop embedded software to run on microprocessors written in C and C++ languages. Coordinate installation of software systems. Analyze information and user needs and determine system performance standards. Use various tools and technologies, such as Git, Github or Jenkins, in performing software development and micro-controller based systems work. Position is based out of Best Buy Co., Inc.'s headquarters in Richfield, although allows for option to telecommute from a home office anywhere in mainland U.S. Must be willing to travel to Best Buy Co., Inc. headquarters about four times per year. Requires: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, or Information Technology, plus one year of experience with 1) embedded systems design, development, and deployment for healthcare device projects; 2) development of embedded software to run on microprocessors written in C language; 3) debugging embedded systems; 4) developing firmware; 5) performance testing, including power consumption and functionality tests; 6) coordinating installation of software systems; and 7) using Python, and Git or Jenkins.
