JOB SUMMARY
The University Advancement department is looking for a Financial Specialist II.
The Financial Specialist II reports to the Director of Finance & Advancement Services. This position works collaboratively with the Director of Finance as well as all other staff members within the Stout University Foundation and Alumni Association offices in the capacity listed below. The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare, document and post journal entries.
- Provide accounting assistance to the Director of Finance.
- Prepare monthly budget-to-actual and fundraising reports.
- Prepare stewardship reports for donors.
- Prepare 1099 & 1096 forms annually.
- Prepare university stores orders, purchase requisitions and purchase orders.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
• Basic bookkeeping and accounting knowledge.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint (or comparable programs), database systems, and have knowledge of web-based applications.
• Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Highly Desired
• Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Three years of professional experience in accounting or related field.
• Financial Edge or similar accounting software experience.
• Excellent judgement including sensitivity to personal and confidential information.
DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
The UW-Stout Office of University Advancement is comprised of the Stout University Foundation and the UW-Stout Alumni Association. The two units collaboratively strive to advance the mission of UW-Stout through building relationships with alumni, friends, and industry partners of the university. Under the direction of the Stout University Foundation Board of Directors, the Stout University Foundation is responsible for the acquisition and stewardship of philanthropic resources for UW-Stout.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Minimum starting salary of $45,000 (21.63/hour), commensurate with qualifications and experience. UW System provides an excellent benefits package including participation in the Wisconsin State retirement plan, demonstrating our commitment to the diverse needs of our employees.
