University Dining's Administrative Assistant is responsible for student payroll maintenance for the Price Commons Cafeteria. General duties of this position include approving student employee time in HRS, completion of work authorizations and payroll forms, update database for student's records, maintain files and perform general office duties as needed. This position also guarantees inputting of weekly inventory books, service records, and inventory transfers into the FoodPro menu management system. This position oversees and maintains paperwork flow of the 'Gifts From Home' program. Additionally, this position assists with the execution of cafeteria meals, which may require nights and weekends. This position supervises student employees (1.5 FTE) in an office setting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum / Required
• Experience with keyboard data entry
• Customer service experience
• Experience in an office setting
Highly Desired
• Experience working in a food service operation
• Experience with office management

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
University Dining includes two cafeterias (Commons and North Point Dining) and retail dining options in the Memorial Student Center (food court & convenience store), express food locations around campus, catering, and concessions. Some locations operate year-round, and others are closed during the summer months. University Dining is the largest student employer on campus. The hourly rate for this position is based on experience and available budget. A six-month probationary period is required. The UW System provides an excellent benefits package including participation in the Wisconsin State retirement plan.
