As a lead engineer, you serve as the technical anchor for the engineering team that supports a product. You create, own and are responsible for the application architecture that best serves the product in its functional and non-functional needs. You identify and drive architectural changes to accelerate feature development or improve the quality of service (or both). You have deep and broad engineering skills and are capable of standing up an architecture in its whole on your own, but you choose to influence a wider team by acting as a "force multiplier". The Team
The Infrastructure Voice team manages the core telephony capabilities at Target, responsible for the voice systems at headquarters, stores, and distribution centers, totaling 2,000 locations. We utilize cutting edge open source technology to enable communication and collaboration while ensuring high availability.

Job Duties
Primary:

- Manage telephony solutions using open source technologies such as Asterisk and Kamailio

- Configure and customize telephony systems to meet business requirements while ensuring high availability and reliability of telephony services

- Stay up-to-date with the latest open source telephony technologies and trends

DevOps:

- Use DevOps skills to automate deployment of applications and changes with CI/CD pipelines

- Use APIs to automate activities and tasks

Telephony Systems:

- Manage Voice Store technology hardware including Music player systems (amplifiers and speakers), guest help buttons, and overhead paging

- Create dashboarding to assist with monitoring and troubleshooting

- Knowledge of SBCs

Collaboration:

- Work closely with cross-functional technical teams to implement and troubleshoot solutions, while providing technical expertise

- Partner with business experts to understand needs while working to build solutions to achieve business goals

- Work with store support vendors offshore support team to manage incidents in a timely manner

Required skillsets:
• 4 year degree or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of software development experience
• Telephony experience in a professional setting
• Experience with opensource technologies (Asterisk, Kamailio, or similar)

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
