JOB DETAILS:

The University Library is seeking a Circulation Supervisor with interest in supporting student learning at UW-Stout. This position primarily works independently leading the day-to-day operation of the Library Circulation Desk while also contributing to the library's reference and instruction services. Circulation duties include first-line patron interaction and problem solving; coordinating circulation activities and staffing; hiring, training, and supervising student workers. These tasks are performed while serving library patrons and other libraries in the state via phone, email and web applications. This position works collaboratively with the Reference and Instruction teams providing just-in-time and scheduled research assistance as well as Information Literacy Instruction to scheduled classes. This position strives to meet EDI (equity, diversity, inclusiveness) goals of the university.

Salary: $45,000 - 50,000 bases on experience and available budget

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum / Required

• Bachelor's Degree
• Knowledge and experience in collaborative technologies and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Experience supervising staff or volunteers
• Ability to learn new skills and changing technologies
• Experience working successfully in a team environment
• Attention to detail, proofreading and editing skills

Highly Desired

• Master's Degree in Library and Information Science or related field, OR Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of work experience in libraries, archives, education, or related institutions
• Experience or knowledge providing information literacy instruction or teaching groups
• Experience training staff or volunteers
• Experience or knowledge providing reference services in a library, education, or similar setting
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with diverse user groups including other employees, students, faculty, and staff for an inclusive environment
• Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and tasks
