About Us:
Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 50 company and one of America's leading retailers.

On pace with one of the world's best-loved and most recognized retail brands, Target Strategy & Innovation is focused on the future. We are at the center of developing and enabling how Target evolves to meet the changing needs of our guests while winning a competitive global retail marketplace. Here, you'll partner with internal contacts and external firms in a wide variety of roles-whether you're a technical engineer in San Francisco or a corporate strategist at Target headquarters in Minneapolis. Do you love the idea of helping to shape Target's long-term strategy development? Are you a champion for rigor and process to ensure successful strategic planning? Can you bring your energy and big ideas to the table in order to build momentum in new business innovation? Then bring your talent to the game and join us in bringing to life a portfolio of initiatives designed to move Target forward.

A role with Enterprise Strategy Development means working directly with senior leaders across the organization to develop business and functional strategies-especially those in support of growth and competitive differentiation. Your work becomes Target's annual Strategic Priorities, which are shared across the company and inform the efforts of thousands of team members worldwide every day.

As a Lead Strategist, you will use your skills, experience and talents to be a part of a team focused on developing 3-5 year time-horizon growth initiatives for the company. This includes setting performance objectives for strategic consulting-like engagements and developing the approach for achieving these objectives in line with the total Strategy Management System, organizational context, and Enterprise Strategy Development team. You'll also design the appropriate decision architecture/infrastructure to develop recommendations, secure commitment for decisions, and activate against the decisions with speed and within specified timeframes. In collaboration with internal partners, you'll create the design and adjustment of an activity's strategy, decision infrastructure, best practice decision process and documentation tools ensuring the activity is integrated with all other management system activities while also delivering the best decisions for Target. Likewise, you will be expected to proactively align and secure commitment from internal partners, including key officer-level leaders, within and across pyramids to execute your work. You will then own the execution of portions of the activity as appropriate. This may include executing the work across multiple pyramids, driving alignment/building commitment across enterprise or pyramid teams to deliver activity, designing/facilitating leader conversations to get decisions, setting up and running cross-business teams, or building leader and team capabilities.
